Special Conditions
Special Conditions are part of the General Conditions of Carriage. They contain rules based on local laws and regulations for a specific country or region. This means Special Conditions may differ from the General Conditions of Carriage.
Always read both the General Conditions of Carriage and the Special Conditions for the country or region where you book your ticket.
Online booking
You can book flights for a maximum of 9 passengers (adults and children) per booking. Each adult may accompany one infant traveling on their lap.
Your booking is confirmed when you receive a booking reference. We will also send a confirmation email containing all the details of your booking to the email address you provided.
Keep in mind: In accordance with the provisions of the EU regulation, the customer's right of withdrawal does not apply to airline tickets, unless local law provides otherwise.
Fares
Fares quoted include all taxes, except where taxes are collected locally at the airport. Fares are only guaranteed once you have received a booking reference.
Online payment
To pay online, you need a debit or credit card. KLM will debit the payment from your card immediately. In some countries, you can use other payment methods, such as bank transfer, Apple Pay, or local payment methods.
Payment is secured using encryption that meets the highest industry standards.
If you choose to pay in a currency different from the one shown on our website, please note that exchange margin fees are non-refundable if you request a voluntary ticket refund. However, these fees will be refunded in the case of an involuntary ticket refund (i.e., for reasons beyond your control).
Check-in and boarding
With respect to Articles 8.2 to 8.4 of the General Conditions of Carriage, the following Special Terms shall apply:
8.2 Passengers must arrive sufficiently in advance of the flight in order to be able to carry out all necessary formalities for their journey; in any event, they must comply with the Check-In Deadline. Should the Passenger fail to do so or should the Passenger not present all the documents allowing them to be checked in and therefore be unable to board, the Carrier may cancel the Passenger’s Reservation for which the Passenger has failed to check in, without liability towards the Passenger, except in cases of Force Majeure as defined in Article 1 of the General Conditions of Carriage invoked by the Passenger.
8.3 Passengers must be present at the boarding gate prior to the boarding time specified at check-in. The Carrier shall be entitled to cancel a Passenger’s Reservation for which the Passenger has failed to board, if the Passenger is not present at the boarding gate at the latest by the boarding time specified to the Passenger, without liability to the Passenger, except in cases of Force Majeure as defined in Article 1 of the General Conditions of Carriage invoked by the Passenger.
8.4 The Carrier shall have no obligation (including, without limitation, no obligation to carry or pay a refund) or liability whatsoever towards a Passenger who has not complied with the conditions of this Article.
Refunds
With respect to Article 14.5 of the General Conditions of Carriage, the following Special Terms shall apply:
Refunds are subject to the applicable regulations in the country in which the Ticket was originally purchased and/or the applicable regulations in the country in which the refund must be paid. In the event that such regulations differ or conflict, the Carrier shall, upon the Passenger’s request, apply the more favorable condition to the Passenger to the extent permitted under applicable laws and regulations.
